Ron Shubert

Ronald “Ron” Shubert, 75, of Shubert, NE, passed away on September 2, 2023 on the farm in Shubert. He was born May 6, 1948 at Falls City, NE to Melvin “Bud” and Mary Eleanor (Kennedy) Shubert.

Ron enlisted in the United State Navy following graduation. He served aboard the U. S. S. Charles F. Adams as an oil king. He served in San Diego, Great Lakes and Charleston, SC Naval Bases. He was honorably discharged in 1970.

He married Sandy McKinnis on September 5, 1971 at Blair, NE.

Ron was raised on a farm near Shubert and graduated from Shubert High School in 1966. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Shubert and farmed with his father and eventually he farmed with his son, Brent. He was also a rural mail carrier from 1993 until 2014. He was a member and Elder of Shubert Christian Church and also a past member of American Legion Post #222.

Ron is survived by his wife, Sandy of Shubert, sons, Leland and his wife Susan of Omaha, Kris and his wife Nikki of Adams, NE, Brent and his wife Tanya of Falls City, grandchildren, Kevin, Anne, Katie, Hayleigh, Colton, Gavin, Everett, Madison and a baby on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carole Williams and a grandson, Greyson Matthew Shubert.

His funeral will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Shubert Christian Church with Reverend Dennis Fullbright officiating. Interment will be in Prairie Union Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
