Wayne W. Gatz

Wayne Gatz, 75 of Falls City, NE, passed away December 24, 2019 at Falls City.  He was born September 1, 1944 to Wesley and Evelyn (Scheitel) Gatz in Falls City.  On August 17, 1968 he married Sherry Pebley-Mount at Brownville, NE.  Wayne was a member of the National Guard, Company B of Falls City for 6 years.

Wayne was raised at Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1962.  He worked for Frontier Homes, Gambles, Falls City Cable TV and Airlanco retiring in 2009 after 33 years of employment. During his retirement he worked part time at Scheitel Feeds and for area famers helping with planting and harvest. He enjoyed bowling and attending his Grandchildren’s events. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of Falls City Elks Lodge #963 and a member of First Christian Church.

He is survived by Wife: Sherry Gatz, Falls City, Daughters: Tiffany (Roger) Schulenberg, Falls City, Dawn (Mike) Paulson, Omaha, NE, and Son: Tony (Donna) Mount, Falls City, Brothers: Larry (Vicky) Bennington, NE, Dale Gatz & husband Anton Delgado, Denver, CO, and Glen Gatz & partner Rodney Thompson, Omaha. 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Darius Schulenberg and a son Jeffrey Mount.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM at First Christian Church with the Reverend Fay Ann Blaylock officiating.  Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.  Family will receive friends Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 4-5:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
