William Leroy Hayes

William Leroy Hayes, 77, of Falls City, NE,  went to the lord on June 9, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born November 1, 1945 at Baltimore, MD to William Howard and Betty (Riddle) Hayes.

Leroy was the eldest of eight children and graduated from Falls City High School. He married Ruth E. Torrez on November 5, 1966 and they were later divorced. Leroy worked at Missouri Beef Packers, Woodings Verona Tool, and laboring jobs in Pawnee and Auburn until he retired in 2011. Leroy loved to hunt, fish and anything having to do with nature. He loved to play pool and in his later years he enjoyed going to the casino.

Leroy is survived by his daughters, Lisa Huddleston and her husband Ron and Sherry Huddleston and her husband Ed both of Falls City, son, William “Butch” and his wife Tina of Falls City, ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, sisters, Helen Mandery and Linda Waggoner both of Falls City and a brother, Larry Jo Hayes of Falls City. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Paul D. Hayes and Michael, in infancy and sisters, Debra Lear and Vicky Lowe.

His memorial service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Musil officiating. Inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
