Karen, Diane, and John,
I have so many good memories of my long-time friend, Evelyn, beginning with the year we both joined St. Marks UMC in Cedar Rapids back in the late 60's. We shared UMW activities, Prayer Tree, looking at antiques, talking about the best CD rate, and just being there for each other. I still enjoyed the telephone calls I made to her after she moved to Elk Horn. She was generous and caring, fun to be with, and so dependable. Your Mother was special, and I'm blessed she was my friend.

My sincerest and most heartfelt sympathy go out to all of Evelyn's immediate family and extended to the Acton family, as well. Sorry I cannot make it to Falls City this coming Monday, but please know that all of you are in my heart as you grieve the passing of Evelyn, a phenomenal, warm, loving woman. I enjoyed her from way back when Karen Sue and I were just kids running around at the Palmer House Motel in Auburn. I can still see that place in my mind's eye. I have nothing but the fondest memories of Evelyn. She never failed to put a nice, beautifully written card or letter in the mail. I don't think that she ever forgot a birthday or a life event!! I remember talking with her at the Kansas City family reunion, which was a total blast!! We must've talked for 2 hours, reminiscing about everything and everyone. She was an amazing communicator and always thought well of people. A complete joy! She was extremely generous of spirit and well-loved. Her life was rich and she will be sadly missed. However, never forgotten. My condolences to all.

I wish to express my sympathy to you the family. John I miss your visits when you came to Cedar Rapids. I now live in a condo in Marion, IA. Iam only about ten blocks from Brad.
