Francis Luginbill

Francis L. Luginbill, 80, of Falls City, NE, passed away May 9, 2015 at Falls City. He was born March 10, 1935 at Falls City, NE to the late Peter and Mary (Willey) Luginbill.

He married Tina Vanderpool and they were later divorced. He married Christina Hudson on May 30, 1973 at Alamogordo, NM. She passed away April 1, 2010

Francis was raised in Richardson County and enlisted in the U. S. Air Force where he received his GED. He was honorably discharged and retired in 1974. He worked various jobs and then attended Southeast Community College at Lincoln and graduated in 1980 as a master welder. He worked as a welder in various places throughout Nebraska. He retired in 1992 and moved to Falls City and has lived there since. He was a member of the Verdon Congregational Church and had been a deacon as well as a member of DAV Chapter 43 of Falls City.

Francis is survived by his sons, Charles and his wife Marsha of Lincoln, Leory and his wife Val, Peter and his wife Lynn both of Washington, DC, daughters, Patricia Luginbill of Houma, LA, Jackie Schaeffer and her husband Bob of Norwalk, OH, Kimberly Lange of Lincoln, step-children, Michael Patnode and Tammy Carter and her husband Dave both of Falls City, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, John Carter, Lloyd and Fred Blevins and Wayne Luginbill, sister, Daisy Dunn, grandsons, Nicholas Luginbill, Marc Cepurnieks, D.J. Daigle, granddaughter, Jill Patnode.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church with Reverend Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 7:30 – 8:30 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
