Gregory A. Platter, 47, of Westminster, MD (formerly of Shubert, NE), passed away February 21, 2017. He was born November 22, 1969 at Lincoln, NE.
Greg served his country in the United States Air Force from 1988 until being honorably discharged in 1995.
On June 3, 1989 he married Wendy Nissen at Dover, DE, they were later divorced.
Gregg moved to Shubert at the age of 9 and graduated from Southeast Consolidated High School in 1988 and then enlisted in the Air Force. When discharged he attended auto technician college but was recalled to active duty to serve in Desert Storm. When he returned he became a master mechanic in Delaware and then Baltimore. He then worked for a private ambulance company doing fleet maintenance, following that he worked for a land clearing company working in the Baltimore area.
Gregg is survived by his fiancé, Susan Hoak of Westminster, MD, sons, Kevin Cody Platter of New London, CT, Matthew Alan Platter of Oregon, OH and his father, Dennis Platter and his special friend Diana Husing of Shubert. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Beutler officiating. Interment will be in Prairie Union Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
