Dear Simon family,
I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. I received word from Joe Glenn today about John and cannot express the sadness I feel in my heart! Like Joe, I attended USD with John and he quickly became one of my best friends. I lived across the hall from him in Julian Hall! John was a gregarioius and wonderful person. I have many many fond memories of John and our escapades. As often happens, we unfortunately lost touch. He called me a few times and I last saw him years ago in Kansas City. I didn't realize until right now that John was sick or back in Falls City. I wished I had known. I already miss him! I always hoped that we Yotes of yesteryear could have a reunion gathering and if that had ever happened, I assure you that John would have been one of the first to be invited! He was a great friend, a gifted athlete and very fond memory. May he rest in peace! May God comfort his children, his family and his many friends through our grief of losing him! Dominus Vobiscum!

I was sorry to read of John's passing today. We were very good old friends and I will miss him dearly.
Please know that I will be praying for him and all of you in this time of sorrow.
I am back at USD and am reminded, almost daily, of the many good memories we
shared playing on the football team and being college kids together. Rest in Peace Si ! and may God Bless you all.

My deepest sympathies to all members of John's family. I always considered him a lifelong friend. He was a great catcher for our baseball teams through the years and a great quarterback for the Sacred Heart Irish football team. What a competitor!. We also had good times cruising the streets of Falls City during our high school years, he on his Harley Davidson Sportster, and me on my Honda. Those were good days and wonderful memories. Im so sorry for ur loss!! I know how hard it id to lose a parent, it actually sucks but hes at peace now and isnt suffering anymore! Am sure John and my dad, Paul, will be watching over us!! Your in my thots and prayers!!
