Ruth Marrs

Ruth M. Marrs, 96, of Falls City, NE, passed away October 21, 2015 at Falls City. She was born January 22, 1919 at Barada, NE to the late William and Ida (Hunker) Goldsberry.

On November 27, 1937 she married Bill Marrs at Hiawatha, KS. He passed away December 2, 1988

Ruth was raised in Richardson County and graduated Falls City High School in 1936. When married the couple established their home at Falls City. Ruth worked various secretarial jobs until becoming employed at James Oil Company as a bookkeeper until she retired in 1990. She was a member of First Brethren Church at Falls City and V.F.W. Auxiliary of Falls City.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Sandra Oberle and her husband Rick of Falls City, Vicki Furnas and her husband Mike of Lincoln, NE, grandchildren, Sean Stevens and his wife Heather of Omaha, NE, Heather Grebert and her husband Shawn of Shenandoah, IA and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Richard Goldsberry and a daughter in infancy, Shirley.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 10:30 AM at First Brethren Church with Reverend William G. Shipman officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-5:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
