Cheri Marie Bletscher, 60, of Rulo, NE, passed away October 9, 2014 at Lincoln, NE. She was born November 29, 1953 at Falls City, NE to Marge (Koelzer) Kopf and the late Leonard Kopf.
On June 30, 1973 she married her high school sweet heart, Doyle Bletscher at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Rulo.
Cheri was raised in rural Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1972. When married the couple made their home in Rulo where she stayed home and raised her four children until going to Nursing School at Northwest Missouri State nursing school at Maryville, MO. Following graduation she worked as a LPNC at Community Medical Center at Falls City for sixteen years until retiring in 2013.
She loved to cook, watch football, work outside tending to her flowers, lawn and garden, cheer on her granddaughter Morgan’s sports teams and spend time at home with family. Most of all she loved being a grandma and spending as much time as possible with her granddaughters. Not only did she touch the lives of her family and friends, she also touched many others through her sixteen years of nursing. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Chuch Altar Society.
Cheri is survived by her husband, Doyle of Rulo, children, Matt of Rulo, Lindsay Brown and her husband Jared of Omaha, NE, Brandy Coulter and her husband Josh of Crete, NE, Mitch and his wife Kelly of Falls City, mother, Marge Kopf of Falls City, brothers, Tom Kopf and his wife Cindy of Falls City, Tony Kopf of Falls City, granddaughters, Morgan, Abby, Ava, Josie and Kyla.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father David Oldham as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery.
A Parish Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 5:30 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with the family receiving friends following the rosary.
The family prefers memorials be made to Family Choice.
The family of Cheri Bletscher wished to express their deep appreciation to those who have offered such kindness, support and messages of sympathy and comfort in our time of grief. Your caring has touched us. Your love embraced us. Your strength has helped us to find clarity and allow some peace of mind. And for all of that, we are grateful. Cheri touched all our lives in so many ways – as a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a daughter, a nurse, a friend. Whether it as a kind word, a bright smile or one of her unforgettable stories, she brought joy to everyone around her. She will be forever missed, but we know that she will live in the hearts of all who shared their grief with us during this difficult time.
